Last Day Of October

Here is the last card for October and the last card for the Die Cut Diva's Shape Challenge.
What a beautiful image by Morgan's Art World.  It has been fun using it and turning it into some shaped cards this month.
The easel base and main panel were cut with a Spellbinder's Curved Rectangle and the sentiment cut with one of the smaller dies in the set.
The vine and leaves are cut with a Cheery Lynn Flourish Vine die.
Here is a close up of the sentiment:
I'm sorry the photo quality isn't the greatest.  The sentiment was a download from Word Art Wednesday.

It is time to say thank you to our sponsors for the Die Cut Diva's Challenge for October.  Morgan's Art World and One Happy Cut. Tomorrow there will be a new Challenge at the Die Cut Divas blog.

Blue and Kraft

Don't you love the combination of baby blue and Kraft? I guess I must because I have done several with that combo lately.  I also love blue and green.
Here is a birthday card I made for one of my granddaughters using those color combos.
Isn't this such a cute idea?  While I was looking for ideas for the sketch at Stamplorations,

I found this card by Indiana Inker who CASED Stamping with Brenda. So I used their cute idea of the shopping bags.
Here is Kelly's card:

On the inside, I attached an envelop so I could enclose some birthday money for shopping.
The sentiment and birthday boxes are Doodle Pantry.

Stamploration sketch and colors

Simon Monday - any past challenge ( Pastels 3/30/15)

Beautiful Floral Birthday Wish

Easel cards do not come easy for me, and especially round ones.  But I do love how this one turned out.
For the main round pieces, I used Die-namic Stax circles.  The fancy cut dies are Spellbinder Stately Circles.  I love the geometric design around the edge.  The lovely flower is a digital image by Morgan's ArtWorld.  I stamped the sentiment with a GKD stamp and cut it out with a Spellbinder Grommet Tag die, sponging a bit of blue on the edges.
The image is colored with copics.

By the way, the Die Cut Diva's Shaped Challenge is on for a few more days.  Morgan's ArtWorld and One Happy Cut are the sponsors.

Challenges:
Uniko - geometrics
DLArt - October, anything

CAS Thanksgiving Card

Thanksgiving Day is exactly one month from today, the 26th.  I have no idea what I am doing for that day, whether dinner will be here or not, but at least I have a start on some Thanksgiving cards.  Thanks to the Kraft Journal's challenge this week.
Keeping this very clean and simple, I started with Buff Ivory cardsotck, sponging some distress ink on the edges.  Because this cardstock has a linen texture, the distressing is really pretty.
The Happy Thanksgiving sticker is from the Tim Holz Seasonal collection and it was placed onto a Kraft tag.  I used two colors of Baker's Twine on the tag.
The sentiment is digital by Diane's Daydream Designs.

Challenges:
Simon Wednesday - twine
DLArt - anything
Stamp and Create - use Kraft

Thanks From the Heart

Cornucopias - I've always loved them.  In fact, I pull one out of storage each year around this time and set it up on my dining room table.  So I was happy that the image for the progressive challenge at From the Heart was a cornucopia.
The card is pretty simple and self-explanitory.  I used Impression Obsession to cut and emboss the leaves. The sentiment is cut out with a Spellbinder tag.  The base is a dark chocolate.
It is great to get another Thanksgiving card made.  Now if I just remember to send them in time!

Challenges:
Cuttlebug Mania - use black and orange
From the Heart - progressive challenge
Stamp and Create - use brown or kraft
DLArt - October
Die Cuttin Divas - photo inspiration
Simon Wednesday - twine
Suzy Bees - use leaves
Di's Digis - include a pumpkin

My BFF

Last week we had the joy of visiting our very best friends.  They live in a different state now and we have not seen them for seven years.  Oh what fun it was to be with them.  Here is a card I made to send to my BFF thanking her for their hospitality.

This is a CASE of Kim's beautiful card:

For my card I used a digital stamp by Doodle Pantry, coloring it with Copics.  Card base is SU Pumpkin Spice.

Not So Scary Scarecrow

This scarecrow is just too cute to scare away any crows.  If I remember right, the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz and the scarecrows we made for our gardens years ago had the same affect. LOL

The challenge at the Kraft Journal is Anything with a Scarecrow.  I love this digital image by Doodle Pantry.  I tried to help him be a little more frightful by adding the BOO sticker from the Tim Holz Seasonal Salvage Stickers but I don't think the bird is impressed.
The base of my card is Warm Brown Kraft cardstock.  The fence is cut from that cardstock too.  After cutting it out, I ran it through the Cuttlebug with a woodgrain embossing folder and added a bit of ink.  The grass is cut with a YNS die cut.  All those elements are placed on a piece of Buff Ivory Text paper on which I printed a "moon" using a feature in my computer's publishing program.  I also sponged a little bit of distress ink on the edges of the Buff paper.
I have several scarecrow stamps and digital images, do you?  If so, the Kraft Journal would like to see how you use them.

Simon Wednesday - halloween colors
Di's Digis - too cute to spook

The flowers in the lower left corner and the single flower in upper right are digital images that I printed, colored, and fussy cut.

Choosing Three for Autumn

It's that time again to take your pick from a list of items at the Kraft Journal Challenge.  My picks? Baker's Twine, Pumpkin, and Tag.
Here is that sweet little girl again that I used a few weeks ago:

I printed her onto vanilla cardstock and colored her with Copics. Actually, I printed it twice so I could fussy cut the pumpkin and her hand, popping them up with a dimensional.
The card base is Warm Brown Kraft.  I printed the sentiment onto a Scalloped Grungy Prim Tag and then tied two colors of Baker's Twine on the top.
The Kraft Journal Challenge:
Pick three from this list: Baker's Twine, die cut, pumpkin, glitter, buttons, stamped image, black, tag.
What will you choose?

Challenges:
Papertakes - Anything
Crafty Sentiments - Anything
Sweet Stampin' - use text
Di's Digis - harvest colors
Time Out - Autumn, smile
DLArt - October Linky Party

Harvest Time

Oh, how I have enjoyed all the veggies and fruits from our garden and trees.  Harvest started early this year because of the unusually hot summer we had in these parts.  I've had more squash and cabbage than I have known what to do with.  Nice problem.
The challenge at the Kraft Journal is Harvest Festival, CAS style.
When our children were young, we set aside the 31st of October for a home harvest festival (because we did not do Halloween).  Lots of fun with caramel apples, carving pumpkins, etc.  I miss those days with the kids - sigh!

The cardstock layer on top the dark chocolate base is Buff Ivory.  I love the linen texture of this paper. The digital image is a pre-colored image, Harvest Bounty by Doodle Pantry. After cutting it out and rounding the corners, I then  distressed the edges with a distresser and Tim Holz distress ink.  The sentiment is one of the verses in the Doodle Pantry Pretty Petite Scripture collection.
And finally the Bright Hemp Cord - such bold colors, just right for Autumn.

How will you interpret the Kraft Journal challenge of Harvest Festival?  We would love to see what you come up with.

Challenges:
Papertakes - autumn colors
Simon Wednesday - anything
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Time Out - Autumn
Doodle Pantry - anything

Very simple but so pretty with the Copic earth colors (my favorite) and the beautiful crinkle ribbon from the Kraft Outlet.  The card base is SU Pumpkin Pie and the layer is GKD Faded Brick.

Let's Get In Shape

It is October 1 which means a new challenge at the Die Cut Diva's Challenge blog.  This month the challenge is to make a shaped card.  I'll be the first to admit that making a shaped card truly is a challenge for me.  I get so comfortable with the A2 card.  But what's a challenge without it being challenging? Duh!

I used the Spellbinder Curvy Rectangle to cut out the card.  The image is by one of our sponsors (Yes, we have two this month) Morgan's Art World.  The other sponsor is One Happy Cut.  I colored it with Copics.  The three pearl dots are melted Perler Beads.  I love all the colors that can be made and matched up to copics and pencils.
Drop by the Die Cut Diva's Challenge, have a look at all the wonderful eye candy by the DT, and then make a shaped card.

Challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown - CAS
Simon Wednesday - anything
Stamping Boutique - no designer paper
Inspiration Destination - anything
Die Cuttin Divas - anything
Cuttlebug Mania - no squares
